CONFIDENCE 2010 International Conference.
The objective of the task T6.5 was to raise awareness of the research and development carried out within the CONFIDENCE and other related projects at the individual user and societal levels. The international conference CONFIDENCE 2010 was organised in Jyväskylä, Finland.
A description of the process and tasks involved in the organisation of the conference is presented in section 2.
The scientific results of the CONFIDENCE 2010 International Conference: Open Doors to ICT Ageing and eInclusion are presented in section 3.1.
The performance of the prototype was good. We demonstrated situations producing alarms and conditions in which alarms were not initiated. The interaction of the end-user with the system through the portable device (PD) was demonstrated in two conditions. One recreated circumstances when an alarm situation was correctly identified by CONFIDENCE. The other consisted of an alarm initiated by the end-user.
Stakeholders made questions about the installation, conditions in which the system could be used, alarms and portable device, alarm receivers. They also pointed out the desirability of specialised call centres as alarm receivers and future extension to outdoor environments.
The results of the conference could be used by WP2, WP3 and WP4, as input for possible modifications of the CONFIDENCE prototype.
We conclude noting that the aims of dissemination of knowledge and stakeholder interaction with the researchers have been achieved.
