Abstract:

This work presents a novel Ultra-Wideband (UWB) transmitter architecture based on an advanced BiCMOS Technology buffer. This transmitter is able to overcome the ringing problem of the UWB Gaussian pulse generators in the literature. Moreover, in this work, a new Time of Arrival estimator is proposed for an UWB receiver. This estimator presents better accuracy and fewer outliers that other works in the literature in dense multipath environments. Measurements are presented that demonstrate the good performance of the estimator.
